LET EVERYTHING HAVE ITS MOMENT: NOVEMBER

OMG Halloween is over, it's November. Quick, set up the Christmas decorations, plan Thanksgiving dinner, get the shopping in. The year is almost over and I didn't get to...___.

Whether it is rushing through the holidays or rushing through the season of life you are in, start by taking in a deep breath.

In through the nose. Out through the mouth.

What if we didn't have to feel the anxiety about being somewhere else than where we are now (physical, emotional, status)? What if we could enjoy each moment of our journey? This season we are challenging ourselves to let every chore, every family dinner, every season to have its moment. Simmer in it, live in it and take tiny steps to move when you are ready.

"Stop rushing the timing of your life. You don’t have to achieve everything you’ve ever dreamed of this year. You only have to decide what direction you want to head, and start walking toward it. Then take solace in the fact that you have done what you could, without sacrificing your sanctity of mind, and the quality of your life." ... "What if you could relax into life a little more, while still retaining all of that big-hearted, wide-eyed ambition? What if you could choose what you want, and then let go? Let go into the knowing that what you do each day ultimately determines where you arrive, and that you do not have to force what you are already working on." ..."If you work at something a little bit, every single day, even if it is just the smallest step, you will get to exactly where you want to be. Not by magic, but by principle."

108 SUN SALUTATIONS: WINTER SOLSTICE

108 sun salutations winter solstice at brighton yoga center

Celebrating the winter solstice with 108 Sun Salutations as a beautiful and meaningful practice that honors the return of light. The winter solstice, marks the longest night and the shortest day of the year. It’s a time of reflection, renewal, and connection to nature’s cycles reminding us of the earth’s natural rhythms. As the sun begins to return, it symbolizes hope and the promise of longer days ahead. This transition can be a time to pause and appreciate the stillness of winter. Sharing this practice of 108 Sun Salutations can create a sense of unity and collective energy, reminding us that we’re all connected. As you flow we will take time to set intentions for the coming months. Consider what you want to cultivate as the light returns. Focus on gratitude, renewal, and embracing the warmth that will follow the cold as the days slowly grow longer.

Bring water, a yoga mat, and intention.
