NOVEMBER: GRATITUDE (THE CHEAT CODE)

As the year begins to wind down, November invites us to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. In the world of yoga, this season is a natural time to shift from striving to appreciating — from “doing” to simply “being.” You’ve probably heard the phrase “cheat code” before — that secret trick that helps you unlock a hidden advantage in a game. But here’s the thing: life has its own cheat codes, too. And one of the most powerful is gratitude.

When we take time to be thankful for what we already have — the breath in our lungs, the strength in our bodies, the community that surrounds us — something magical happens.

Gratitude changes our energy. It opens our hearts. It shifts our perspective from lack to abundance.

Suddenly, the things we’ve been chasing start to find their way to us naturally. So this November, your “cheat code” for getting what you want isn’t pushing harder — it’s being grateful for what’s already here.

Try beginning or ending your yoga practice (or day) with a moment of gratitude:

Thank your body for showing up.

Thank your breath for guiding you.

Thank yourself for continuing the journey.

The more you practice gratitude, the more life gives you to be grateful for.

PRATYAHARA (BLINDFOLDED) YOGA

ree

Pratyahara is a core yoga practice that involves withdrawing the senses and the world. It is the fifth of the eight stages of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga. The word pratyahara translates to "withdrawal of the senses" or "gathering towards.

Join Emily Walter as she leads you in a practice that combines the fundamentals of traditional yoga with the unique sensory experience of wearing a blindfold. This variation of traditional yoga incorporates the use of a blindfold to heighten the senses and increase body awareness, adding an extra layer of sensory deprivation to challenge and deepen the practice that encourages practitioners to rely on their sense of touch, balance, and intuition.

By removing the sense of sight, all the other senses are enhanced and it compels practitioners to pay closer attention to their body’s alignment and movement. This ultimately leads to a more mindful and introspective practice as the external distractions fade away, allowing yogis to focus on their internal experience.

Some of the benefits of blindfold yoga include:

  • Improved balance and stability

  • Enhanced focus and concentration

  • Increased body awareness and proprioception.

  • Heightened intuition and trust in oneself

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • A more mindful and introspective practice

The class will be 1 hour and 15 min of Slow Burn + Yin. Class will be unheated, slower and more intentional movements will be taught.

Bring: A yoga mat and water bottle. Blindfolds will be supplied by the instructor.
